Listing Quality Audit
Audit a unit's listing against the standard before you blame its price.
Merchandising is inventory work, not marketing's. Run this before any price move: a unit nobody has seen has no price problem.
The five that must all pass
| Measure | Actual | Standard | On / Off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo count | 15 minimum | ||
| Days from front-line ready to photographed | 24 hrs of front-line ready | ||
| Description length | 150 words minimum | ||
| Listed the same day photos were shot | same day | ||
| Price checked against live comps this week | 5 sold comps 3 is the floor; flag it at three |
Pass is all five. Four of five is a fail — a unit with fifteen photos and a forty-word description still loses the customer reading it at eleven at night.

Description
The diagnostic — run it before touching price
| 1 | VDP views, trailing 14 days | |
| 2 | Leads from this unit, trailing 14 days | |
| = | VDP-to-lead rate 2% |
How to read the rate
- At or above 2%
- Listing and price are both working. Leave it alone.
- Views high, leads low
- They found it and rejected it. Price problem.
- Views low
- They never found it. Merchandising problem — fix this sheet first.
- under 1% = price or merchandising problem
- monthly, 3-5 units
Action
A failed audit is fixed before the unit is re-priced, not instead of it. Re-run after seven days.
